Gay Barcelona

Most of Barcelona's gay bars are in a few blocks of the Eixample, between Carrer de Balmes and Carrer de Casanova, an area locals call the Gaixample. Consell de Cent, Diputació and Muntaner hold nearly all of them within a short walk of each other, along with most of the gay shops and the Axel Hotel.

The saunas are spread more widely, from Sauna Condal in the old town to Sauna Bruc near Passeig de Gràcia, and the darkroom bars and massage studios are mostly in the Eixample too. On the seafront, the Mar Bella beach has a gay beach bar, Chiringuito BeGay.
