Elvira Cafe is a queer goth bar on Carrer del Consell de Cent, and it takes the theme seriously. It calls itself a queer monster bar and the fun dark side of Barcelona, and the place is built around that idea: dark décor, a glowing neon sign with the bar's name and a list of cocktails and shots to match.
It draws a crowd that likes its night a little darker than the pop bars around it, and it says plainly that anyone can come as they are. It is run by the same group as several other LGBTIQ+ bars and clubs in the Gaixample, and the space can also be hired for private events.
