El Cangrejo Eixample is a dance bar on Carrer de Villarroel, in the Gaixample. It plays music from every decade and calls itself the most fun place in the Eixample. Drag performers are a regular part of the programme, and the posters for their shows set the tone: camp, loud and a little retro.
The room is compact, with red walls, chandeliers and a crowd that comes to dance rather than to stand at the bar. It is a weekend place that opens late, so it works best as the last stop of a night in the neighbourhood.
