Sauna Thermas

Saunas | Cruising in Barcelona, Spain

About

Sauna Thermas is one of the biggest gay saunas in Barcelona, spread across three floors and 900 square metres in the Eixample. It is part of Grupo Pases, the Spanish group that runs several other venues in the city.
The facilities are substantial by any measure: two pools, a jacuzzi that fits twelve people, a dry sauna, a steam room, private cabins, hammocks, a video wall, and dedicated cruising areas. There is also a bar on the lower floor serving food and drinks, massage services are available on-site, and free condoms and lubricant are provided throughout. Lockers are at reception. The place is open around the clock, every day.
Weekends are the busiest, but the venue draws a varied crowd all week. Rocafort metro station (L1) is a short walk from the entrance on Carrer de la Diputació.

There are party and DJ in the pool zone, free consumption cards.
Cleaner, less chaotic, much more luxury and better maintenance than Casanova.
Perfect to relax and also to get "crazy" and have petty nice experience.

I definitely recommend that place!

Last night, upon my friends’ recommendation, I wanted to go to the New Year’s Splash event. I was among the first 3 to enter. The two guys before me received lockers while I received a trash bag.

Realized in a few minutes that every non-Spanish speaker was handed a trash bag to put their clothes in vs getting a locker with the entry fee of 30EUR. I saw and heard them as they were in front of me.

When I confronted why I didnt get a locker, the receptionist said I need to pay 60EUR for the locker. So instead of first-come first-serve, they handed trash bags to foreigners to put their clothes in while everyone else got a locker with the same price. Whatever their strategy/reason behind this was, it ruined my first hours of 2026.

Of course, I didnt stay and left even after paying the entrance fee.

This is not a gay sauna but a brothel for men, where everything nice inside has a price. When you approach someone, they tell you they are paid, and after it happens again you realize there’s no point in being there. Even if there are attractive guys who are just regular visitors, you won’t feel like trying anymore.
One piece of advice to the owner: mark the paid prostitutes with badges, matching swimsuits, or something so at least we know they are part of the staff!

After seeing all the reviews we were a little apprehensive to go but wanted to check it out and went with an open mind to what it would be like and wanted to post a detailed review of our experience to help others.

Good
a lot of people talk about escorts in the reviews - however we did not experience any on the night that we visited.
the staff were really nice.
Spa area was nice however the music was super loud and with the tiled surfaces the music just echoed and so wasn’t a place to relax
Some ok guys do go here and a different mix to other saunas, but most more out of it that other places.

Bad
absolutely filthy with black mold, dirty rooms, cigarette butts all over the place. It wasn’t extremely busy but looks like the rooms are just left and not cleaned or checked very frequently (if at all). Changing room had slippers scattered all over the place. Beds have cigarette burns on most of them. Needs a lot of repairs and cleaning. Holes in the roof in areas and the first time I’ve seen a cockroach in a sauna.
Rampant and open drug use. This gave it an unpleasant feeling with people smoking drugs in the open/ in rooms with the door opening and closing and when you go into a room you’re not sure what you might be inhaling.

Overall - would not recommend this place sadly. Wanted to enjoy it but it was one of the worst sauna experiences we have ever had. Generally feels very dirty and not a pleasant place to relax. It has potential but would need a lot of improvements before we would think about going back.

Honestly, avoid this place if you’re looking for a genuine gay sauna experience. Sure, the facilities are clean and fairly well maintained — that’s the only positive thing I can say.

But beyond that, it’s a massive letdown. This place feels less like a sauna and more like a gay-themed money trap. Yes, there are good-looking guys, but nothing here is real unless you pay. If your credit card isn’t ready, don’t expect attention or connection.

It honestly feels like a legalized setup for paid services, and I’m not even sure how this kind of business model stays within the law in Spain. They advertise a sauna, but what you really walk into is a pay-to-play brothel disguised as wellness.

Bottom line: unless you’re ready to spend big just to not be ignored, don’t waste your time. This place sells fantasy — and charges you for every second of it. 👎
