La Sastrería Café

Bars in Barcelona, Spain

About

La Sastrería Café is a gay bar situated in the heart of Barcelona's Gaixample district, on Carrer del Consell de Cent. Opened in 2021, it has established itself as one of the more distinctive venues in the city's LGBTQ+ scene, drawing a mixed crowd of locals and visitors who come for the lively atmosphere and the bar's strong commitment to inclusivity.
The venue blends cocktail-bar culture with a packed entertainment programme. Drag shows take place every day of the week, featuring a rotating cast of performers and themed nights that range from Sunday bingo hosted by resident queens to burlesque evenings and special guest appearances by well-known performers from across Spain and beyond. The small but energetic dance floor keeps things moving, with DJs spinning a mix of Latin hits, pop, dance remixes and Top 40.
La Sastrería also hosts ticketed events and parties in partnership with larger venues, including the Bottomnes night at Arena Experience, which has quickly become a recurring fixture on Barcelona's queer nightlife calendar. A regular Wednesday happy hour adds a popular midweek draw to the programme.
The bar also promotes its own events through an external ticketing platform, making it straightforward for visitors to plan ahead and secure entry to special nights. With artistic direction by resident host Dani Rubio, the venue maintains a consistent creative identity that sets it apart from more established bars in the neighbourhood. Plans for a Madrid outpost are reportedly in the works for 2026.

The only food is popcorn but the cocktails are strong, the vibes are fun, the decor and atmosphere are lovely, and the drag entertainment is actually quite well-done and thought out!

It’s a nice gay bar to have a drink, meet new people, dance, and enjoy a Drag Show! The bartenders are very sweet, welcoming, and kind, especially Luciano! It’s a crowded place on Friday and Saturday, but on weekdays is more relaxed!
