Punto BCN is a bar in the Gaixample, the few blocks of the Eixample where most of Barcelona's gay venues sit. It is run by Grupo Arena, the company behind the Arena clubs and Safari Disco Club.
It works as a meeting point rather than a dance bar, and it fills early, well before the clubs open. The crowd is mixed and skews older than the club rooms nearby. Drinks come with a small tapa, and entry is free.
Because it sits a short walk from the Arena rooms, it is often the first stop of an evening rather than the last.
