Pride Barcelona is the city's main LGBTIQ+ Pride, and it is a long one. The 2027 edition stretches across three weeks of the summer rather than a single weekend, so the programme builds slowly and then concentrates into its final days.
The demonstration is the centre of it. Around that sit an opening speech, concerts, club nights and a social and cultural strand of talks, exhibitions and film, spread across venues in the city rather than gathered on one site.
It is run by the Catalan LGBTIQ+ chamber, which puts the edition together with a committee of about twenty people and several hundred volunteers, alongside a core group of LGBTIQ+ organisations and a wider circle of supporting entities. Most of the bars and clubs that fill up around it are in the Eixample, the part of the city known as the Gaixample, within walking distance of Placa Universitat.
