Gay Berlin

Berlin has no single gay district, but it has an old centre. The streets around Nollendorfplatz in Schöneberg, above all Motzstraße and Fuggerstraße, have been at the heart of the city's gay life since the 1920s. They still hold the densest cluster of bars, along with the Prinz Eisenherz bookshop and, a few streets north, the Schwules Museum.

East of there, Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain have bars of their own, the sauna Der Boiler on Mehringdamm, and the fetish and techno clubs, among them Lab.oratory and KitKatClub on the edge of Mitte.
