La Chapelle is one of the most distinctive gay bars in Barcelona's Eixample district, occupying a spot on Carrer de Muntaner close to neighbouring bar Punto BCN. Its interior is the first thing that strikes visitors: white-tiled walls covered floor to ceiling in Catholic iconography, including crucifixes of every size, statues of the Virgin Mary and figures of Jesus. The religious decoration is entirely tongue-in-cheek, giving the place a campy, irreverent character that has made it a firm favourite among regulars.
The bar draws a predominantly gay and bisexual male crowd, typically in the 30 to 50 age range, and has a reputation for being welcoming and relaxed rather than pretentious. Staff are noted for their efficiency and friendliness; one bartender is known to communicate in sign language, making the space particularly accessible for deaf visitors. Drinks are competitively priced by Eixample standards, which keeps the bar consistently busy. The cocktail list is a highlight, with specialty drinks that draw pre-night-out drinkers before they head on to larger venues.
La Chapelle also functions as a convenient pre-party starting point for Arena Club, with discount tickets available at the bar. Outside, a terrace provides space to take in the evening air and watch the Gaixample neighbourhood come to life. The combination of affordable drinks, a genuinely quirky atmosphere and a central location on one of the district's most active streets has kept La Chapelle a well-regarded fixture in Barcelona's LGBTQ+ scene.

Great bar to start your evening. Friendly bartenders and great prices. Its very small and you have to enter through a very narrow hallway with the walls full of religious ornaments, hence the name. Deffenately worth the visit!
We’ve been coming to this place everytime we visit Barcelona. Good vibe and friendly staff
A friend took me there to try it out. Lovely bar. The decorations were amazing with all the Catholic iconography all over the walls. The drinks were great. And it was full even on Sunday night. Many older men go there if you are into them. The staff were professional and quick. I'll go there again during my next time in Barcelona. Any bar that has many older men is a big yes for me.
One of the best gay bar in town. Excellent (very gay!!) music selection and the only place to collect "good sexual karma" according to their decoration. Works like a charm as every time I speak my prayers here - meaning: having a drink or two... I get extremely lucky. Highly highly recommended also cute barkeeper!
Very small establishment but awesome vibe and great place to go for drinks. The bartenders are super nice and the drinks are super strong.
Make sure you give this place a try definitely going to come back next time I visit Spain.
