Heile Welt is a bar and lounge on Motzstr. in Schoeneberg, at the Nollendorfplatz end of the gay strip. It is the calmer option on a street otherwise full of loud bars: lounge seating, cocktails, conversation rather than a dance floor.
There is a front room with a bar and a quieter back section, which fills up and can be awkward to reach once the place is busy. Weekends are the busy nights and it works both as a starting point for an evening and as somewhere to end up after dinner or the theatre.
The crowd is mixed gay and lesbian across a wide age range, with a lot of neighbourhood regulars.
