Roses is a small gay and lesbian bar on Oranienstr. in Kreuzberg, next door to the club SO36. It is known for its interior: pink fur on the walls, flashing Madonnas, aquarium pictures and a general pile-up of kitsch that has not been toned down in decades.
There are two small rooms and no dance floor to speak of, though people dance anyway. The music is pop, heavy on Madonna, Kylie and similar. It gets going late and stays open until the early morning, which makes it a standard last stop after the rest of Oranienstr. has closed.
The bar asks guests to respect each other and does not tolerate discrimination. Photography is limited to yourself, your friends and the interior. Cash only.
