Begine is a women's bar and feminist cultural centre in Schöneberg, run as a registered association since 1986. It calls itself a space centred on women and their lived realities, open to all women, cis, trans and intersex, who identify as women.
Alongside the bar there is a monthly cultural programme spanning music, cabaret, theatre, readings, film screenings, discussions and exhibitions, with a particular focus on supporting women artists and newcomers. The building also hosts meetings for women's groups, political initiatives, sports and leisure groups, and a function room that can be rented for workshops, seminars and other events.
It also runs a separate psychosocial and systemic counselling service for women, reachable by phone, WhatsApp or Signal.
