Silverfuture is a small queer bar on Weserstraße in Neukölln, open since 2007. It describes itself as a gathering place for Kings, Queens and Criminal Queers and their friends from Berlin and further afield.
The bar is dimly lit and cluttered in a lived-in way, with a long back-lit shelf of bottles, fairy lights and vintage bric-a-brac, and it doubles as a small gallery for art and photography by people connected to the place.
Programming runs through the month rather than around one fixed night: drag shows, a queer Stammtisch billed as an open space to talk and meet other queers, a nonbinary night with performances and chat time, a flirting night built around analogue messages instead of apps, storytelling evenings, and a monthly flea market where small vendors sell art and second-hand goods.
