Prinz Eisenherz is a queer bookshop on Motzstr. in Schoeneberg, founded in 1978 and one of the oldest of its kind in Europe. It moved to its current address on the Motzstr. gay strip in 2014.
The stock runs to around 20,000 titles at peak: gay, lesbian, trans and queer fiction and non-fiction, comics, art and photography books, biography, queer children's books, magazines, DVDs and cards. A good share is in English. Staff know the stock and will order what is not on the shelf.
The shop also runs readings and literary events, often with authors, and works with community organisations in the neighbourhood. It sits a few doors from the Motzstr. bars, so it is easy to combine with the rest of the street.
