Brianza Pride is on Saturday 12 September 2026, and this edition walks between two towns. The route the organisers have published starts at the Cologno Centro metro station in Cologno Monzese, runs up through the town and along Corso Roma, crosses into Brugherio by Via Dorderio and finishes at Parco Increa. They put it at about five kilometres and say on their own site that the route can still change up to the day itself. No start time had been published when this was written. Cologno Centro sits on line 2 of the Milan metro, so the assembly point is a train ride from the middle of Milan rather than a drive into the province. Parco Increa, at the far end, is a park around a former quarry lake on the eastern edge of Brugherio. On the way the march crosses from the metropolitan city of Milan into the province of Monza e Brianza, which is the argument behind the slogan, La periferia di nessun⊗, nobody's periphery.
A manifesto in ten articles
The coordination behind the Pride has published a political document of ten articles, and it is a wider list than a Pride platform usually carries. Alongside self-determination, recognition of families, marriage for everyone and relationships and sex education in schools, it commits the march to antifascism and secularism, to remembrance of the persecution of homosexual people under Nazism, to opposition to further building over open land in Brianza and to better public transport, to antispeciesism, and to a ceasefire and the defence of dissent abroad. Anyone deciding whether this is their kind of demonstration can read it and know.
The organisers are a coalition rather than a single association: Brianza Oltre l'Arcobaleno with Rete Brianza Pride, two CGIL union branches, a rainbow families organisation, a parents' group covering Como and Lecco, and several local cooperatives and collectives. There is a warm-up event before the march, on Sunday 6 September at the Arci Blob in Arcore, called Oltre le Etichette, with an aperitivo from 18:30 and a talk from 20:00. Arci membership is needed to get in. Arcore held the previous edition of the Pride.
Italy, and what else is on
Italy scores 24.11 of 100 on ILGA-Europe's Rainbow Index, one of the lowest figures in western Europe. Civil unions have been available to same sex couples since 2016 and carry inheritance, pension and name rights, but there is no marriage and adoption is limited, which leaves the children of same sex couples in an unsettled legal position. The weekend is busy in this corner of Lombardy. Legnano Pride is the very next day, Sunday 13 September, 29 km away on the other side of Milan. Vercelli Pride follows on 19 September, 70 km west in Piedmont, and VCO Pride at Gravellona Toce on 4 October, up towards Lake Maggiore.
