Reykjavík's party series for lesbians and queer women is back for its sixth edition, and this time it falls on Halloween. Dyke Nite 6 takes place on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at 22 Bar, Laugavegur 22. Doors open at 21:00 local time, according to the organiser's event page. Our event listing has the details and more pictures and videos from earlier nights.
What the night is
Dyke Nite was started by DJ Linda Anderson, who hosts the nights and also works as an event manager at 22 Bar. Asked by Gaycation.eu what the series is about, she described it in her own words:
Dyke Nite Reykjavík is a queer nightlife event created to bring lesbians and queer women together in a welcoming space where they can connect, dance, celebrate their identities, and feel a sense of community.
The idea behind Dyke Nite is simple: creating a space where queer people can meet, make connections, enjoy music, and celebrate who they are. Reykjavík has a vibrant queer community, and I wanted to contribute to its nightlife by creating events that put lesbians and queer women at the centre.
Each event brings its own energy, with DJs, dancing, special performances, themed nights, and plenty of queer joy. We want people to feel welcome whether they come with friends or arrive on their own.
Dyke Nite is about more than just a party. It’s about visibility, belonging, and creating spaces where people can express themselves freely and meet others in the community.
The timber house on the corner of Laugavegur and Klapparstígur has been a meeting point for Reykjavík's queer crowd for decades. 22 Bar holds the ground floor and Kiki Queer Bar the floor above.
The Halloween edition
Costumes are the theme. The programme announced by the organisers lists special performances, a set of Dyke Nite drinks at the bar and, at 23:30, the crowning of the Dyke of the Nite. The organisers say the costume counts for a lot in that vote, but not for everything: presence on the night matters too. Entry is ISK 1,500, paid at the door.
For visitors, the timing helps. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Laugavegur is the main street of the city centre, so the venue is a short walk from most of the hotels and guesthouses downtown.
Plan the trip
Our Iceland country page covers the legal situation for LGBTQ+ travellers and the rest of the scene. Updates and photos from earlier nights are posted on the series' Instagram account, where any change to the programme would appear first.
