Schorndorf holds its first Christopher Street Day on Saturday, 26 September 2026, and the organisers say it is the first anywhere in the Rems-Murr district. It opens on the Unterer Marktplatz in the old town. Their stated reason for it is short: queer people are everywhere, so the district should have a day of its own.
The running order went out on 19 September and it is tight. An opening speech at 14:30, a drag act at 14:50, the demonstration setting off at 15:00, speeches at 16:00, a choir at 16:20, a further speech at 17:05, DJs from 17:15 and the end at 19:00. Two DJs have been announced. Jona Davis plays queer pop and club, and Techno Türke takes the later slot with techno.
The day is paid for out of donations, and the organisers have made a point of saying so. In a post on their own channel they answer the claim that CSDs run on public money: grants exist but are a small part of the budget, and the stage, the sound and the printing for this one come from donations. Their fundraising page carries a target of 2,500 euro. On 19 September they stood on the Schorndorf market with an information table and sold cake towards it.
Behind the day is a group of queer people and allies working through the Schorndorfer Bündnis gegen Rassismus und Rechtsextremismus, the town's alliance against racism and the far right, which lends its structures rather than running the CSD itself.
Schorndorf sits on the Rems about 25 km east of Stuttgart. It is the terminus of S-Bahn line S2, which runs through Stuttgart and out to the airport, and it is also on the regional line from Stuttgart to Aalen, so the afternoon works as a trip out and back from the city.
