The Barcelona Rubber Weekend takes place for the 13th time from 26 to 29 November 2026. The organisers' programme lists 21 activities, from a free latex market to a main party with a strict dress code. For anyone travelling in, the details worth knowing are which pass covers what, and which nights are not open to everybody.
Who runs it
The weekend grew out of a contest. According to Rubber Spain, a group of friends elected the first Mr Rubber Spain at Berlin Dark in December 2014, wanting parties at home like those in Chicago and Berlin. In 2018 they founded the Associació Black & Shine to promote rubber within the LGBTIQ+ community. It is registered as a non-profit, and the team works unpaid. The association also describes itself as a founding member of CERC, a confederation of European rubber clubs.
The title is now called Rubber Spain Ambassador. The 2026 contest rules are open to LGBTQ+ people aged 18 or over who are Spanish citizens or live in Spain, and who own the rubber outfit they compete in. Sign-up closes on 25 November. The jury holds 75% of the vote and the audience 25%, so visitors in the room have a say.
The four days
Thursday 26 November starts at Boxer Café Bar, with an exhibition by Abraham Saraya at 18:00 and the welcome social at 19:00. From 22:00 the Gummi party is back at Berlin Dark, where the title began, and its dress code is rubber only.
Friday's daytime base is the Axel Hotel, with the market from 15:00, a shine station by Vivishine and, at 17:00, a latex repair clinic with Tish Weinman. The contest follows at 22:00 at Imperial Social Club, Carrer d'Aribau 46. The main party, Rubber Inferno, starts there at midnight. It is a new party with a strict dress code, according to the programme booklet.
On Saturday the market runs again from 15:00, and Camp Up and Skyground fills the Axel's Skybar from 16:00. Boxer Café Bar hosts a Rubber vs. Leather social at 20:00. Open Rubber takes over Open Mind from 22:00.
Sunday stays at the Skybar: brunch at 14:00, a vermouth social at 16:00 hosted by Maspalomas Fetish Pride and Beyond Darklands, whose next Antwerp edition runs from 16 to 22 February 2027, and a cabaret at 16:30. The farewell party is at Boxer Café Bar at 18:00.
Passes and what they leave out
The ticket shop listed these prices on 31 October 2026, in its second release:
- Weekend Pass: 75 euros
- Under 30 Pass: 65 euros, for anyone who has not turned 30 by the end of the event, and the only pass that includes the Under 30 social on Friday
- Thursday Pass: 22 euros
- Friday Pass: 45 euros
- Saturday Pass: 45 euros
- Sunday Pass: 20 euros
- Rubber Inferno party only: 35 euros, without the contest
Three things sit outside the passes. Open Rubber is not exclusive to the weekend, and pass holders pay a supplement with an obligatory drink. Open Mind advertises itself as a private men-only club for members over 18, which matters for anyone in a mixed group. The community lunches at BCN Bar on Thursday and Friday at 14:00 are separate and need registration. So does the four-hour make-your-own-rubber workshop by Fetish Flamingo on Saturday morning, which costs a 22 euro deposit plus 80 euros in cash on the day, and the shop warns that a no-show can cost you your pass. Some venues have limited capacity and admit on a first-come basis.
The market at the Axel Hotel is the one part that needs no ticket, on both days.
Getting around
Passes are exchanged for wristbands at Boxer Café Bar, at the socials on Thursday and Friday from 19:00. The organisers' map gives walks of 400 to 500 metres to the Axel Hotel, Imperial and Open Mind, so most of the weekend can be done on foot in the Eixample. Berlin Dark is the exception, in Poble Sec on metro line L3. Our Barcelona guide covers the rest of the city, and the Spain page the legal background.
A code of conduct applies at every activity. It was first written in 2021 and revised with the community in 2023, and it is based on Catalonia's Law 19/2020 on equal treatment. Anyone with a problem can go to any team member or write to the organisers, who say they can expel those responsible.
