Queer Tattoo Fest Amsterdam takes place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026 at De Hallen Studio's in Amsterdam West, a former tram depot. Hal West, the venue, and the festival's ticket page both promise more than 50 artists from around the world, along with workshops, performances and a queer makers market. A day ticket cost 15 euro on 31 October 2026, and you do not have to get tattooed to come.
The festival is organised by Club FrouFrou Tattoo, which Winq described in 2025 as a queer-run collective in Amsterdam working towards safe and accessible tattooing. The first edition was programmed for 8 and 9 November 2025 at LOADS on the NDSM site in Noord, so this year's address is a good deal closer to the centre. Gaykrant's announcement of that edition listed handpoke and shibari workshops, the queer comedy collective SERVE, drag and DJs. The 2026 pages do not yet name performers.
The workshops
Workshops are booked separately and the numbers are small enough to sell out: the handpoke session on Sunday was already gone on 31 October. Still on sale that day:
- Tooth gems, 15 euro, Saturday 14:00 or Sunday 12:00. A technician from Slovenia covers materials, safety and placement, and participants draw three designs.
- Freehand drawing, 15 euro, Saturday 15:15 to 16:45. Designing tattoos directly on the skin, aimed at tattooers, beginners included.
- Cyanotype printing, 25 euro, Saturday 17:15 or Sunday 17:30. One hour, materials provided, no experience needed.
Before you go
The published times do not agree. The venue gives 11:00 to 20:00 on Saturday and 11:00 to 21:00 on Sunday, while the ticket page says 11:00 at the top, 10:00 in its text, and 20:00 as the close on both days. Check the festival's Instagram, which the organisers name for updates. Neither page explains how to book a tattoo, so if you are coming for one artist, ask there first.
De Hallen sits between Kinkerstraat and the Ten Katemarkt, and trams 3, 7 and 17 stop nearby. The address is a pedestrian passage that car navigation will not find, so drivers should aim for the garage entrance on Bellamyplein.
Our event page has the address and map. De Trut, the volunteer-run queer club on the Bilderdijkstraat, is a few minutes' walk away, and the rest of the city's bars and clubs are in our Amsterdam guide.
