Pride Greifswald is on Sunday, 27 September 2026. It starts at 14:00 on the forecourt of the Hauptbahnhof. This is the replacement date: the Pride planned for the end of June did not go ahead, though the after party in the STRAZE garden did, and the organisers have not said publicly why.
The route is out in full and runs about three kilometres. It leaves the Bahnhofsvorplatz along Bahnhofstraße, Goethestraße and Stephanistraße, goes through Lange Reihe and the Europakreuzung, past Am Mühlentor and Schuhhagen to the Marktplatz, then along Lange Straße, Kapaunenstraße, Domstraße and Rubenowstraße back to the station. It is a loop through the middle of the old town rather than a march out to a festival site.
What comes with the route is the part worth knowing about in advance. Beside it the organisers publish a set of maps marking where the benches are along the way, where the public transport stops are, where the barriers are and where the toilets are. Three kilometres is not a short walk for everybody, and those maps answer the question a list of street names does not.
The speeches are handled the same way. The organisers ask for contributions of no more than five minutes with a current queer connection and no party-political content, and they say outright that they want perspectives on multiple discrimination and ones that are rarely heard. Anyone who cannot or does not want to stand up and read can send a text for someone else to read, or an audio file to be played. The speeches then go on the website in German and English on the day, as they did in 2025 and the year before.
This is billed as an Alternative Queer Pride, and the organisers give its principles as kämpferisch, solidarisch, unkommerziell: combative, in solidarity, non-commercial. Their advice to anyone travelling in reads: stay in solidarity, form groups, including for the journey there, and look out for one another.
Greifswald is a university town on the Baltic coast in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and we list no venues there, so the Pride is the day. The next Pride in reach afterwards is the first CSD in Prenzlau on 10 October, about 92 km south. The day before Greifswald, on 26 September, the fourth CSD in Bernau bei Berlin is on, 158 km away and itself a postponed date.
