Porto Pride Runs from 11 to 13 September and the Festival Is Free

Porto Pride 2026 runs from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September. It is a festival rather than a march, and the three days sit in three different parts of the city. The dates and the venues are on our Porto Pride 2026 event page, and the organisers publish their programme in Portuguese and English.

Friday is the Porto Pride Summit, in the Pequeno Auditório of the Teatro Rivoli. The format is published, a day of talks and debates on LGBTQIA+ subjects, but the speakers are not.

Saturday 12 September is the main day. The festival takes Largo Amor de Perdição, the square beside the Cordoaria gardens, and entry is free. The music runs on one stage, the Palco Idealista, from 15:00 until 01:00, and more than twenty acts have been announced, among them Suzy Guerra, Nascy, Stella Secrets and Malysha. The official after party follows at PINK Club, which has free tickets as well as paid ones.

Sunday closes with two ticketed events, a drag brunch at the Hard Rock Cafe and the Pride Drag Party Boat, which sails from Cais Living Cruise on the Vila Nova de Gaia side of the Douro.

Why the festival costs nothing to get into

Porto Pride has run since 2001, which makes it the oldest Pride event in the north of Portugal and five years older than the city's own Pride march. It was a ticketed indoor party until 2019, when the organisers moved it outdoors and dropped the entrance charge under the motto "Dar cor ao Porto", give colour to Porto. That first free edition drew more than ten thousand people to Praça de D. João I. The association behind it is a member of the European Pride Organisers Association.

The city around it

We list sixteen places in Porto. Among the bars are Café Lusitano, 1906 Club and Fabrik Bar. The clubs include Zoom Club and Move Club, and there are two saunas, Sauna Camões and Sauna Thermas 205. Deuxmecs Porto is the one gay hotel we list in the city.

Portugal scores 66.99 out of 100 on ILGA-Europe's 2026 Rainbow Index. What that covers, and where the gaps still are, is set out on our Portugal country page.
