Dumfries Pride takes place on Saturday 19 September 2026. It is the first year the Pride is run by Queers of the South at the Make/Change Collective, and the day is free.
The march and the park
The march sets off from the Burns Statue at 11:00 and walks to Dock Park, arriving at around 11:45 in time for Pride in the Park, which runs from 12:00 to 16:00. The organisers say the route is wheelchair accessible and that a map is in the printed programme.
Parking at Dock Park is limited. The organisers point to the Whitesands and Brooms Road car parks instead, and the nearest bus stops are at the Loreburn Centre and Whitesands. They also suggest bringing waterproofs.
Before and after
The evening after party is at The Open Arms from 19:00 to 22:30, a venue the organisers call the town's most inclusive. The line-up is Kissing The Flint, Someone Else's Radio, YOU problem! and DJ KiKi.
The night before, on Friday 18 September, a drag pre-party at Greens on St Michael Street runs from 20:00 to 22:00, over-18s only, with Sally Trademark of RuPaul's Drag Race on the bill. The venue has step-free entry and accessible toilets.
Two screenings follow the weekend. Make/Change shows the film Pride, about lesbian and gay activists supporting striking miners in 1984, on Sunday 20 September at 14:00, with a discussion afterwards. On Thursday 24 September at 19:30 the Robert Burns Centre Film Theatre screens Cabaret as part of the programme.
Scotland and the UK
We list no venues in Dumfries. Same-sex couples in Scotland have been able to marry since 2014. The Scottish Parliament passed a reform in 2022 that would have let trans people change their legal gender by self-declaration, and the UK government blocked it in 2023.
