Arctic Pride opens in Tromsø on Monday 9 November 2026 and fills the following week with a programme that ends in the parade on Saturday 14 November. The organiser has published the full 2026 programme day by day, and the parade details are now out as well.
The parade
The parade starts at 14:00 on Saturday 14 November outside Hålogaland Teater, walks through the city centre and finishes at Stortorget, the main square. The programme gives it an hour. In mid-November the sun is up for only a few hours around midday in Tromsø, so the parade walks in the dusk, and warm clothes and shoes with grip are worth more than anything else you pack.
Groups, associations and businesses that want to walk as a unit register through a form on the organiser's site, and the deadline is Saturday 7 November. Registered groups receive the practical details about lining up beforehand. Questions about accessibility go to the parade coordinator, whose contact is given in the parade announcement. Anyone can simply join the crowd. A theatre café is open before the parade, from 12:00 to 14:00.
The week before
The festival starts with the rainbow flag going up at the town hall at noon on Monday, followed by the official opening and a presentation of the programme in the evening. On Friday a second flag goes up outside Tromsø Cathedral at 08:45, and the municipality presents its action plan for gender and sexual diversity at 11:00.
The evenings are where most of it happens:
- Wednesday 11 November: a paint and sip evening at The Edge, a queer women+ evening, a concert in tribute to Dolly Parton and drag bingo hosted by Ivana Impeachum.
- Thursday 12 November: stands at the Pride House in Rødbanken during the day, a workshop on queer spirituality, a pub choir at The Edge and a stage show.
- Friday 13 November: a queer art market at Rødbanken from 12:00 to 18:00, a rainbow service in the evening, a DJ night at Verdensteateret and the Frozen Frontier Fetish Fest, both running into Saturday.
- Saturday 14 November: a conversation with the theologian Halvor Moxnes at 11:00, a bead workshop from noon, then the parade.
A meeting place for queer adults is open every evening of the week. A running club meets on Tuesday, and the programme also lists a working life day, a discussion on positive sexuality and abuse prevention, and a session asking whether it is safe to walk home now.
Tromsø and Norway
We do not list a venue in Tromsø yet, and during the festival week the programme itself is the scene. Norway scores 68.6 out of 100 on ILGA-Europe's Rainbow Map. Our Norway page covers the legal situation in more detail.
No other Pride in our calendar takes place within 200 km of Tromsø around these dates. The rest of the season is on our Pride calendar.
