Shrewsbury Pride Runs an Accessible Section at the Front of Its March on 26 September

Shrewsbury Pride takes place over the weekend of 26 and 27 September 2026, with the march on Saturday 26 September. What the weekend usually looks like is on our Shrewsbury Pride page. This piece covers what the organisers have announced for this year so far.

An accessible section and a shorter route

Shrewsbury Pride says the march will have an accessible section at the front of the parade and an accessible diversion: a shorter route without the steep inclines, for anyone who wants to take part but not walk the full distance. Volunteers will walk with the access section to help where needed. Questions go to the organisers through their Instagram or Facebook page.

At the time of writing the organisers had not published the start time or the route of the main march. Check their pages in the week before.

The march will also carry a community Pride flag, pieced together by people who joined a making session at English Bridge Studios in the run-up, each adding a piece in one colour of the flag.

The weekend at Albert's Shed

Albert's Shed, the live music venue at 8 Barker Street, has partnered with Shrewsbury Pride for both days. It has announced drag acts, live bands and poets across 26 and 27 September, with names still to come.

Before the weekend: a clothes swap

On Tuesday 22 September, from 18:00 to 20:00, Shrewsbury Pride runs a clothes swap at In Good Hands in Frankwell. Bring clean clothes, shoes or accessories that no longer fit or no longer match your gender and take something else home. Coming without anything to swap is fine too, and a small donation to the venue is welcome.

Shrewsbury for a visitor

We do not list any venues in Shrewsbury. For this weekend, Albert's Shed and the town venues taking part in Pride are where to go.

The UK in one paragraph

Same-sex couples have been able to marry in England and Wales since 2014. ILGA-Europe's Rainbow Index scores the United Kingdom at 43.9 out of 100. The detail is on our United Kingdom page.
