Prenzlau holds its first Christopher Street Day. The town of about twenty thousand people sits in the Uckermark, in the far north east of Brandenburg, and the day was put together by local people rather than by an established association.
It begins and ends at Prenzlau station, with a march through the town in between. Pyrotechnics of any kind are not allowed.
Brandenburg has more than two dozen Christopher Street Days and its season normally runs from spring into September, so Prenzlau closes it well into the autumn. Nothing about the programme beyond the route has been published.
Prenzlau is on the regional line between Berlin and Stralsund, and the trains stop at the station where the demonstration starts and finishes.
