The European Pride Organisers Association published the bid from CSD Dresden e.V. to host EuroPride 2029 on 1 September 2026. Its member organisations vote at the association's annual general meeting in Magdeburg on Saturday 10 October 2026, and the result is announced the same day and streamed live. It is the one bid EPOA has published for that year.
The bid runs under the motto Turn Walls into Bridges and is published as a website rather than as the usual bid book. It picks 2029 for three anniversaries falling together: sixty years since Stonewall, forty since the fall of the Berlin Wall, and a year in which Europeans go to the polls. Dresden's argument for itself is the peaceful protests of 1989 in the city. The outline names a Pride village, a main stage, a party zone and the EuroPride march; dates and venues are not fixed in it.
Ronald Zenker, who speaks for the CSD Dresden board, said EuroPride 2029 had to be more than a festival and should read as an invitation to Europe. EPOA's president Patrick Orth called it a strong and solid bid and left the decision to the members.
Where EuroPride goes first
EuroPride moves to a different city every year and the host is chosen by vote. EPOA's own list has Amsterdam holding it in 2026 together with WorldPride, Turin in 2027 and the West of Ireland in 2028, which means a decision taken this October is for the fourth edition from now. Germany last hosted it in Hamburg in 2004, before that Cologne in 2002 and Berlin in 1993.
Nothing is settled until 10 October, so this is not yet a date to plan a trip around. Dresden is already on the site, though, with five entries including Bar Saxxim, BOYS Bar Dresden and the sauna Paradise Dresden.
