CSD Halle Leaves the Marktplatz at 13:00 on 12 September

The Christopher Street Day in Halle (Saale) is on Saturday 12 September 2026. The street festival opens on the upper Marktplatz at 11:00, the demonstration sets off from the same square at 13:00 and comes back to it, and the afterparty, called Kombüse, is at Charles Bronson from 20:00. The date and the place are on our CSD Halle event page; the organisers keep the running order on their own site.

The motto is "Solidarität lässt sich nicht abwählen", solidarity cannot be voted away. It is pointed at a date six days earlier: Saxony-Anhalt elects its state parliament on 6 September 2026. Two associations run the day between them, BBZ lebensart and AIDS-Hilfe Halle/Sachsen-Anhalt Süd. The city's Oberbürgermeister, Alexander Vogt, is the patron, and rainbow flags went up in front of the Stadthaus on 29 August to open the surrounding programme.

The Pride Weeks

The programme around the demonstration runs to 20 September and is spread across the city rather than held on one site.

  • 9 September: the Living Library at the Stadtbibliothek in the late afternoon, and a queer slam at Charles Bronson at 19:00.
  • 10 to 16 September: the Queerfilmfestival at the Zazie Kino.
  • 12 September, the morning of the CSD itself: a workshop on queer happiness at the Händel-Haus, from 09:00.
  • 13 September: the CSD service at the Laurentiuskirche at 18:00.
  • 15 September: a talk on AIDS, ACT UP and queer politics.
  • 20 September: a queer guided walk through Halle at 15:00.

One item has come off the list. The variety show announced at the Steintor-Varieté for 10 September is now marked as cancelled in the organisers' calendar.

The city and the region

Halle is thin on scene venues. We list one, the restaurant Zu Marleen, so most of what is open to visitors that weekend is the Pride Weeks programme itself.

Anyone travelling for it has three more Prides within reach. CSD Nordhausen is on the same day, 82 km west. The third CSD in Bad Belzig follows on 19 September, 84 km north east, and CSD Gera on 26 September, 68 km south.

Germany scores 69.54 out of 100 on ILGA-Europe's 2026 Rainbow Index. Our Germany country page has the legal detail behind that number.
