Christopher Street Day in Gera takes place on Saturday 26 September 2026 under the motto "Let your true colors shine". It falls late in the German season, when most of the summer CSDs are over. Dates and background are on our CSD Gera page; this piece covers how the day runs.
The timetable
CSD Gera e. V. has published the running order for the day:
- 13:00 opening on the event area in front of the KuK, the city's Kultur- und Kongresszentrum
- 13:40 the information stands introduce themselves
- 14:00 parade and demonstration
- 16:00 street festival with a stage programme
- 21:00 aftershow party, Rosa Eber Vol. 4, at the Kaiserwerke
The organisers have not published the route of the demonstration. The start and the street festival are both at the KuK, so arriving there by 13:00 covers everything that follows. Anyone who only wants to walk should be there by 14:00.
The party is the fourth edition of Rosa Eber. The association has been introducing its DJs on Instagram in the run-up. One of them is Izzy, a DJ from Chemnitz who plays hip-hop, pop, R&B and throwbacks from the 1990s to the 2010s and handles booking at the Chemnitz club Atomino.
Who runs it
The day is organised by CSD Gera e. V., a local association that works with the other CSDs in Thuringia. Between CSDs it runs a regular queer meet-up in the city. The association frames the day as a demonstration for acceptance and full legal equality, and anyone can join, whether or not they are part of the community.
Gera for a visitor
We list no bars or clubs in Gera, so plan the day around the KuK and the night around the Kaiserwerke.
Germany in one paragraph
Same-sex couples have been able to marry in Germany since October 2017, and since November 2024 adults can change their legal gender and first name by declaration at the registry office. ILGA-Europe's Rainbow Index scores Germany at 69.54 out of 100. More on the legal situation is on our Germany page.
