The first Christopher Street Day in the Odenwaldkreis is on Saturday 5 September 2026 in Michelstadt. People meet from 12:00 at the station and bus station on Hulster Straße, and the march sets off at 13:00.
The street festival that follows opens at 14:00 on the Festplatz, the Bienenmarkt ground. Info stands are announced from the DGB, the group Odenwald Gegen Rechts and the Odenwald Greens, alongside regional crafts and a stall selling alcohol-free drinks. That programme comes from the flyer, which the Catholic parish of Guter Hirte in the Odenwaldkreis reproduces in its own events calendar. The organisers say on their Instagram account that a free aftershow party follows at the JUZ, the youth centre, from 18:45.
The festival site moved, so check which flyer you have
The street festival is not where it was first announced. The organisers moved it to another site within Michelstadt after the conditions attached to the permit changed, and posted an updated flyer at the end of August. Anyone working from a flyer picked up earlier in the summer should compare it against the current one before setting off.
A first edition in a rural district
CSD Odenwald is still going through the process of founding itself as an association, and it has no website yet. The Instagram account is the only channel it publishes on, which is worth knowing if anything changes in the last days before 5 September. We list no venues in the Odenwaldkreis, and a first CSD in a rural district is a different proposition from one in a city: the point of the day is that people who live there see each other in public.
Getting there, and what else is on
Michelstadt is on the Odenwaldbahn from Darmstadt and Hanau, and the trains stop at the station where the day starts. Trans* Pride Stuttgart is on the same afternoon, 102 kilometres away. Later in the month there is CSD Öhringen on 12 September at 65 kilometres, CSD Offenbach on 19 September at 50 kilometres, and on 26 September both CSD Lautre in Kaiserslautern and CSD Schorndorf.
