About this Event
This is Offenbach's first Christopher Street Day. The city sits directly against Frankfurt and its queer community has always travelled the few kilometres west for the bigger event, so a day of its own is the point of this one.
The motto is "Queer. Solidarisch. Sichtbar.", and the organisers put accessibility and a stage programme drawn from the local community ahead of size. A demonstration and parade through the centre lead into a street festival with stages, information stands and drag performances that runs into the evening.
The association behind it publishes its pages in fifteen languages, which for a city where more than a third of residents hold a foreign passport is less a gesture than a working decision. Workshops and panels sit alongside the parade, and an exhibition and a pub quiz fill the days around it.
