The Dutch Puppy Contest, which elects Mx Puppy Nederland, takes place in Amsterdam on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October 2026. The organisers have opened registration for the 2027 title.
The two days run across three venues, two of them on the same short stretch of Kerkstraat. It starts on the Friday evening at Prik on Spuistraat, from 20:00 to 22:00, with a meet and greet at which the jury takes each contestant aside for a short interview. On the Saturday the group gathers again from 12:00 for coffee and cake at The Bronx, the erotic lifestyle shop at Kerkstraat 53. The contest itself runs from 13:30 to 18:00 at Club Church, across the road at Kerkstraat 52, with a social and dancing afterwards. Club Church carries the same slot on its own programme.
The judging is split over the two days. The Friday interview follows what the entrant wrote on the registration form, which is why the organisers tell applicants to fill it in carefully. Saturday adds the physical parts: an obstacle course, time spent playing and socialising with the visitors, and a personal performance the entrant is free to shape. At the end of the afternoon the audience votes, and the jury counts those votes and decides who takes the title.
The rules are short. Entrants have to be 18 on the day of the election and to be living in the Netherlands for the year they would hold the title, and they cannot hold another fetish title at the time of the contest. Former titleholders are welcome, but nobody may enter more than twice in a row or more than three times in total, and a winner is barred from entering again. Places on the Saturday are limited, so where more people apply than can be fitted in, the Friday interviews decide who competes.
The winner takes the title, a patch and a harness, and about twelve months of representing the Dutch pup and handler community. The organisers say that involves publicity in which the titleholder's face is visible, and appearances at public kink and fetish events. The last duty of the year is to sit on the jury that picks the successor and to hand the title over there. Everyone who takes part gets a keepsake, and the contest is run entirely by volunteers.
The election has been held each autumn since 2017. The organisers' photo galleries cover 2017, 2018 and 2019, then 2022 to 2025, with nothing for 2020 or 2021.
For a visitor, the useful part is that the Saturday is not a closed judging: it has an audience, and that audience votes. All three addresses are a few minutes apart in the old centre, so the weekend works without transport.
