Freital holds its first Queer Pride on Saturday 3 October 2026, which is also German Unity Day and a public holiday across the country. The organisers, the local group Queeres Freital, have now named the place and the time: people are asked to arrive at Freital-Potschappel station at 12:15, the spot they tag in their latest announcement.
The rules for the day
The day is registered as a demonstration, and the organisers have published the conditions attached to it in a post of their own. Marchers keep to the right-hand side of the road unless the police direct otherwise. Alcohol and drugs are not allowed, and neither is glass of any kind, so bottles stay at home. Face coverings fall under the legal ban on masking at assemblies. Fireworks, flares, torches and smoke bombs are banned, as are weapons and anything that could be used as one. Instructions from the police, from the assembly leader and from the stewards have to be followed.
No route has been published yet. The organisers call the day a demonstration first, and their motto, "Zu bunt, um rechts zu sein. Wir sind auch Freital!", says what it is for.
Getting there
Freital borders Dresden to the south-west, and Freital-Potschappel is a stop on the S-Bahn from Dresden Hauptbahnhof, so the meeting point is reached without a car. The organisers post updates on Instagram and in a WhatsApp group linked from their profile, which is where any change on the day will appear first.
We list no venues in Freital itself. Dresden is next door, and for the evening there are BOYS Bar Dresden, Bar Saxxim and Valentino cafe & bar, plus the sauna Paradise Dresden.
