Pride Almere fills 7 to 11 October 2026 with a dinner at the town hall, a walk through the centre, three theatre shows and a dance night. The foundation behind it began as Winter Pride Almere and dropped the "Winter" once it was running events all year. Most of the week happens at the Kunstlinie, the city's theatre. Wednesday 7 October: dinner at the town hall
The week opens with the Pride Almere Diner in the Burgerzaal of the Stadhuis, Landdroststraat 1. Doors open at 18:00 and the evening runs from 18:30 to 22:00. It is free, but seats are limited and have to be booked through Eventbrite, where dietary needs can be noted. The local choir One Voice sings, and mayor Hein van der Loo and the former alderman Maaike Veeningen speak.
Friday 9 October: the walk and Beyond The Ball
The Pride Almere Walk goes through the town centre on the Friday. The foundation has not yet published a start time or a route, so check its site before setting off.
That evening at 20:30, Collectief Aqueerius plays Beyond The Ball in the Middenzaal of the Kunstlinie. It is a musical about Julie d'Aubigny, the 17th century opera singer and swordswoman known as Madame de Maupin, told with electropop songs and a lot of camp. Tickets are 23 euros.
Saturday 10 October: Girls won't be Girls and the Roze Danspaleis
At 20:00, Girls won't be Girls puts solo pieces by Nora Akachar, Marleen Hendrickx, the hip hop artist ZULU GREEN, the ballet dancer Vincenzo Turiano and the actor Thorn de Vries next to performers from the queer community. It mixes theatre, dance, drag and cabaret, runs about two hours without an interval and costs 19.50 euros. Rikkert van Huisstede made it. The same evening the Kunstlinie hosts the Roze Danspaleis, Pride Almere's dance night; no time or price has been published for it yet.
Sunday 11 October: for children, then Queerfest
At 13:30, Het Filiaal Theatermakers play Het lammetje dat een varken is en andere boerderijverhalen, three farmyard stories from picture books by Pim Lammers with songs and live music, for ages 4 and up, at 14 euros. From 12:00 to 13:00 children can make a Pride flag garland beforehand. The week closes with Queerfest, run with Avanti, Almere's LGBTQ+ association, at the Kunstlinie.
Almere for a visitor
Almere is about twenty minutes by train from Amsterdam. The bar we list here is Den Enghel, a bar and eetcafé on the Zadelmakerstraat that has been open since 2003. It has no gay night of its own, but the Roze50+ group holds its monthly Regenboogborrel there.
