CSD Remscheid Marches from the Rathaus to the Stadtpark at 16:15 on 19 September

Remscheid's fourth Christopher Street Day is on Saturday 19 September 2026, under the motto "Laut und queer!", loud and queer. It is a demonstration at the town hall followed by a free festival in the Stadtpark that runs until 22:00. The background is on our CSD Remscheid 2026 event page.

The timetable

The organisers have published the day on csd-remscheid.de:

  • 13:30: people gather on the Rathausplatz
  • 14:00: welcome at the town hall, and the demonstration begins with a stage programme there
  • 16:15: the march sets off along Hindenburgstraße and ends at the Stadtpark
  • 16:45 to 22:00: CSD meets RS United, the festival in the Stadtpark

That puts more than two hours of speeches and stage programme on the square before anyone walks, so anyone who only wants the march can arrive later in the afternoon.

In the Stadtpark

The festival is run by AGOT Remscheid, the umbrella association of the town's open children's and youth work, and entry is free. Its line-up names two live bands, Paulinko and Manko Express, along with Ayçel Hanal with music and performance, a DJ set from DJane S.I.A.M., a queer cabaret show by Garde der Garstigen, and cabaret and chanson from Tante Justus. There are food trucks and drinks, information stands, a photo box and an awareness team.

Two practical points. Glass bottles are not allowed anywhere on the site. And the festival takes part in "Luisa ist hier!", the scheme under which somebody who feels harassed or unsafe can ask for Luisa and is helped discreetly.

Remscheid and around

Remscheid sits in the hills of the Bergisches Land, next to Wuppertal and Solingen. We list no venues in the town itself. On the same Saturday CSD Offenbach holds its first edition, about 160 km to the south-east, and a week later, on 26 September, CSD Lautre takes place in Kaiserslautern, about 200 km away.

Germany

Germany has had marriage equality since 2017, and since November 2024 the Self-Determination Act lets adults change their gender entry with a declaration at the registry office. The country scores 69.54 out of 100 on ILGA-Europe's Rainbow Index. More on our Germany page.
