Remscheid's fourth Christopher Street Day is a political demonstration and a youth culture festival on the same day. It opens on the square in front of the town hall with a welcome and speeches, then marches through the centre to the Stadtpark.
The motto is "Laut und queer", loud and queer. The demonstration is carried by local groups including Remscheid tolerant e.V., the queer and trans meet-ups of Aidshilfe Wuppertal and Aktion Muteinander, and its speeches are about queer rights and democratic solidarity against the far right.
In the Stadtpark the day becomes a festival under the name CSD meets RS United, run by AGOT e.V., the umbrella of the town's open youth work. There are information and market stands, food trucks and a stage with music until late evening. It is the last CSD of the season in North Rhine-Westphalia.
