Hostal La Zona takes up two floors of a corner building from the late 19th century on Calle Valverde, where Chueca meets Malasaña. Gran Vía is about 50 metres away and Puerta del Sol a few minutes on foot.
The rooms are plain and light. There are singles, doubles with a balcony over the street, a larger double with a wide bed, a corner double with two balconies, and twin rooms, one of which looks onto the inner courtyard. Every room has its own bathroom, air conditioning, heating and a TV.
The building has a lift. A small dining room stays open around the clock with coffee, tea and biscuits, and there is a fridge, a microwave and a toaster for guests to use.
