The third Herbst Pride Norden is on Saturday 10 October 2026. The demonstration starts at 14:00 on the Marktplatz in Norden, and from 15:30 the same square hosts what the organisers call the Abend der Vielfalt: speeches, music and performances on a stage, running into the evening. The motto this year is "Wellen schlagen! Mit frischem Wind für Vielfalt", roughly "making waves, with a fresh wind for diversity".
Who is on the stage
The association Queeres Norden has been announcing its line-up one act at a time on the Herbst Pride Norden Instagram account. So far it reads:
- Die Drucker, a punk rock band from Norden and the first band confirmed.
- Theresa Mattel, a drag artist who has performed in Nuremberg, Osnabrück, Hamburg and Bremen and brings a set of performance and comedy.
- Feuerwanze, a queer fire performer who appears at many queer events.
- DJ Luise Bass from Hamburg, playing charts, classics, pop and rock.
- DJ Blackberry, the second DJ of the evening.
A photographer from Leer, who ran a portrait campaign at the CSD in Leer in August, brings a mobile portrait set-up to the square. The afternoon has a host from the queer community in Bremen. More acts may still be added before the day.
Why October, and why Norden
Norden is a town of about 25,000 on the East Frisian coast, the mainland port for the islands of Norderney and Juist. Its Pride began in 2024 as an initiative of the town's youth parliament, and it is held in autumn deliberately, under the tag #365tagesichtbar, visible all 365 days. Most of the German CSD season is over by the end of September, so this is one of the few Prides in the north-west after the summer.
We list no venues in Norden itself. Norden has a railway station on the line to Norddeich, and the Marktplatz is in the town centre.
Germany for queer travellers
Germany scores 69.54 out of 100 on ILGA-Europe's Rainbow Index. Same-sex couples have been able to marry since October 2017, and since November 2024 adults can change their legal gender and first name by a declaration at the registry office. Our Germany page has the detail.
