Bar Candela is a small bar on Plaza de Pepe Ubis, a square a few minutes east of the medieval centre of Vitoria-Gasteiz. Most of what happens here is exhibitions, concerts and DJ sets, and the art on the walls changes with them.
Vitoria-Gasteiz lost its one dedicated queer pub in 2026, and Candela is where the city's queer crowd sends people now. It describes itself in terms of colour, glitter, camp and desire. The room is mixed rather than men only, and it works as a place to talk rather than a dancefloor.
Drinks are cheap for a city bar and there are tables outside on the square.
