Botanic is the gay club on the short strip at Vera Playa, a few doors along Avenida Ciudad de Barcelona from the area's gay pub. It calls itself the only LGBTQ+ disco in the whole Levante Almeriense.
The building is timber, with bands of coloured neon run along the eaves, and there is seating on the roof above the dance floor. The programme is DJs, live music and drag and cabaret shows, built around a recurring party night the club sells tickets for on its own site. It is a weekend place rather than a nightly one.
The crowd is mixed and largely Spanish out of season, with a strong northern European element once the naturist urbanisations behind the beach fill up. El Playazo, the naturist beach the resort is known for, is a walk away.
