Axel Hotel Valencia occupies the Casa Vella, a 17th-century building in the Barrio del Carmen, one of Valencia's oldest and most characterful districts. The building has had multiple lives -- a dance club in the 1970s, a squat in the 1990s, and now a 72-room LGBTQIA+-focused boutique hotel with exposed wooden beams, stone walls and colourful tiles alongside contemporary design. The hotel includes a gym and spa with sauna and jacuzzi, and its ground floor houses the Café de las Horas, a long-standing Valencia institution known for its cocktails and brunch. It is the newest urban hotel in the Axel Hotels portfolio and the brand's first outpost in the city.

The staff always greeted us with a smile and the bar was open late. The only small thing I can say is about the room which we were given. It was located right beside the reception and sometimes it was a little bit noisy but other than that everything was perfect. They had a nice spacious shower and a full mini bar. Plus a smart TV
Loved this hotel! Perfect location, in the old town of Valencia, but in a quiet area. Everything is in walking distance, most of the attractions (cathedral, Central Market etc), loads of restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, nicely decorated, a bit rustic but modern, the double room was quite spacious with a nice walk in shower, a minibar, kettle, iron and a safe. Staff super friendly and helpful. Added bonus was the little SPA, free for the guests of the hotel. Inside the hotel there is also a cocktail bar, very particularly decorated, opened also to customers outside the hotel.
I would definitely stay here again!
Perfect stay from start to finish. The hotel is spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. The reception team are warm, attentive, and make you feel genuinely welcome, as if you are arriving home. Breakfast is delicious and varied, and the spa included in the stay is a real highlight. Thoughtful details throughout make the experience truly special. I would absolutely return. I was genuinely delighted with every aspect of this hotel. If I return to Valencia - and I most certainly will - Axel Hotel Valencia will be my first and only choice.
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. They kindly offered me an early check-in, which was a huge comfort, and even upgraded my room free of charge — a very pleasant surprise. The room and common areas were spotless, well-organized, and tastefully designed, giving the hotel a modern and elegant feel. The staff’s generosity and attention to detail truly made my stay special. If I visit Valencia again, I would definitely choose to stay at this hotel. I highly recommend it.
One of the best, and the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever been. Frankly speaking it is on the top of my price range, so you must know I did not grown up in the Four Season hotel.
But I travel a lot and have experience in good and in bad hotels too.
It is clearly sensible this hotel has built with soul and logic. The hotel is maintained by a professional staff, with care and thoroughness. Perfectly clean.
Davide and Daniel the two managers I met and had great conversation with both of them. They represents the highest standards what you can ever get in hospitality. Such a great people.
The rooms are beautiful. And there is a relaxation room with a remarkable painting on the roof.
The bar and dining area is cozy, romantic, and designed on the finest level too.
The breakfast is the best what you can imagine. With vegan options, a wide selection of fruits, fresh bakery, work of art snacks, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh juices.
The sauna and the hot tube should be warmer, but they already known about, therefore it is in plan to improve.
I wish I could go back!
