Axel Hotel Valencia occupies the Casa Vella, a 17th-century building in the Barrio del Carmen, one of Valencia's oldest and most characterful districts. The building has had multiple lives -- a dance club in the 1970s, a squat in the 1990s, and now a 72-room LGBTQIA+-focused boutique hotel with exposed wooden beams, stone walls and colourful tiles alongside contemporary design. The hotel includes a gym and spa with sauna and jacuzzi, and its ground floor houses the Café de las Horas, a long-standing Valencia institution known for its cocktails and brunch. It is the newest urban hotel in the Axel Hotels portfolio and the brand's first outpost in the city.
