La Carmen opened in November 2025 on Carrer de Roteros, in the Carme quarter of the old town and a few doors from the Axel hotel. It is the newest LGBTQ+ bar in the centre and the most deliberately styled: a lounge bar with cocktails rather than a shot-and-shout pub.
The programme leans on cabaret and live performance. Drag shows, live music and cabaret nights run through the week, and the bar put on a full week of its own for Pride.
It describes itself as queer friendly and draws a mixed crowd across the letters rather than a men-only one. Google reviewers rate it well above the local average, which for a bar this new is worth something.
