La Boba y el Gato Rancio is on Carrer de Cuba in Ruzafa, and it works as a cafe as readily as a bar. Coffee and desserts in the afternoon, cocktails later, with a small street terrace that is the reason to arrive early in warm months.
The interior is loud and colourful and the crowd spans ages, which makes it one of the easier rooms in the quarter to walk into alone. It is a gay bar without being a cruise bar or a club.
It sits in the middle of the Ruzafa cluster, a short walk from the sauna and most of the neighbourhood's other queer venues.
