La Barbería is out in the Grau, the old harbour quarter, well away from the Ruzafa and old-town clusters. Trams 6 and 8 stop nearby. It is a drag and shows bar, and the distance from the centre is part of why the crowd is more local.
Its best known fixture is Cancaneo, a party that starts in the afternoon rather than the small hours and has grown big enough to run an XL edition at a larger venue elsewhere in the city.
Expect performances rather than a pure dancefloor, and a room that commits to the show.
