Pourquoi Pas? opened in 1968 and has never moved. That makes it older than almost everything around it and older than the Nogalera's reputation, since it was trading in the years when a gay bar in Spain was not a legal proposition.
What it is now is a small drag and cabaret bar with a dance floor, in the same local it has always occupied. Shows and cocktails, and a room that fills rather than a room that holds a crowd.
Its own line is that it is more than a bar, and given the history that is a fair claim rather than a slogan.
