About this Event
Endimaris is the LGBTIQ+ film festival of Sitges, run by a local cinema association together with the Casino Prado and the town's LGBTIQ+ association Colors Sitges Link. It programmes features and shorts from around the world, most of them without a Spanish release, and pairs several of them with a discussion afterwards.
Everything happens at the Cinema Prado, a Casino Prado house in the centre of town that is over a hundred years old and among the oldest working cinemas in Spain. Alongside the screenings the festival runs a script lab and gives an award for visibility.
The name is a joke taken back on purpose. Endimari is a Catalan word for a useless thing or a piece of junk. The festival falls in late autumn, well out of beach season, and it is the one queer fixture in the Sitges calendar built around sitting still in the dark.
