About this Event
Bears Sitges Week is the largest bear event in Europe and brings well over eight thousand bears, cubs and admirers into a town of thirty thousand. The centre of it is the Bear Village, an open-air site at the sea end of Carrer de Bonaire on the Passeig de la Ribera, with a stage, bars and a different themed night for every evening of the run. Walking into the village is free.
The 2026 edition marks twenty-five years of Bears Sitges, and for that the village opens early to cover the first weekend as well. Themed nights include a white night run with Prague Bears, a Palm Springs night, a cruise night and the Mr Bear Sitges contest. The farewell night asks everyone to wear pink.
Away from the village the week takes over the town. There is a bear market at Hotel Calipolis with bear artists and magazines, a bar route through the sponsor bars, life drawing sessions with bear models, an art exhibition, a group trip to the Playa del Muerto, a barbecue at Le Patio, a rooftop tea dance, a pool party at a villa outside town and late club parties at Bears Disco and Bearcave. Balmins is the beach most bears head for.
The organisers are a local association rather than a promoter, and the week is recognised by the town as an event of special interest.
