About

ACCAS is the Cantabrian citizens' association against AIDS, on the ground floor of a building on Avenida de la Reina Victoria, on the slope above the bay in Santander. Its work is HIV prevention, testing and support, and most of it is open to anyone who walks in.

Rapid HIV testing is done by saliva and by appointment, and the result is anonymous, free and confidential. The association also gives out condoms and lubricant at no charge, publishes a sexuality guide, and runs psychosocial and employment support for people living with HIV. There is a landline and a mobile, and the appointment for a test can be booked through the website.

For a visitor this is a practical address to have rather than a night out. It describes itself as an AIDS resource centre, and the Cantabrian LGBTI+ association points people here alongside its own office as one of the two places in the city to turn to.
