Heroes is a karaoke bar on Calle Santiago in central Santa Cruz, open to the LGBTIQ+ crowd and run for locals rather than tourists.
Karaoke is the main event and the reason people come, with live music on some nights and cocktails and tapas at the bar. It is a late bar, so it fills up once the restaurants around it have emptied.
Santa Cruz is a working city rather than a resort, and its gay nightlife is small and spread out. Heroes is the singing end of it, and it is one of the few places in the capital that is openly and consistently a queer room.
