Just got back from a stay at the axel beach hotel, Nabila and Roberto went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect after going originally with the wrong company, my partner and them helped set up a beautiful and unforgettable surprise for me, the attention to detail was perfect, they checked on us throughout our stay and made sure we were ok and over all were beautiful and kind hearted souls, they really did make our trip to ibiza memorable and for that we will be back when we go back to san antonio. The rooms were lovely. Thanking you both again and look forward to seeing you again in the future.
We booked for a large group.
Unfortunately they gave us a bed and a sofa bed in each room. We would have preferred not to have had 4 people per room. And not to have slept on a sofa bed.
We had bed and breakfast. The hot breakfast food was cold every morning. The silver food warmers seemed to keep switching off. There was one waitress and 1 cook, both working hard. They were busy each morning and could have done with more staff to help keep the hot food filled up, and hot.
Our bathroom door would not close. We reported it but it wasn't fixed properly and never closed.
It was obvious that the season is ending and the hotel will be closing soon. Skeliton staff. Hand and floor towels were not replaced after our 4th day. We were told there were non left.
We were a bit disappointed, as it had the potential of being better.
Great service from reception guys, they delt with our requiry really well, accomadinate us with beach view apartments on the same floor. No entertainment during weekdays. Really great house chill atmosphere at the swimming pool area with sunbeds available all day and private beach access. Rooms could be done better, missing some shelves underneath of the sink for toiletries and would be great to have some chair or bedside table with shelves in the bedrooms. Balcony doesn't have rack for drying swimming suits but view to the beach is amazing.
WARNING! DO NOT STAY HERE. SCAM!
Checked in for my two night stay, hotel asked to take €150 deposit on my credit card incase of damage to the room. I understand this as people do damage rooms in Ibiza. Paid the deposit and went to my room. Few items in the fridge such as soft drinks, a few beers and a bottle of white wine. Didn’t drink any items as opposite a shop so cheaper to buy water and alcohol to drink in the room from there. Checked out of my room on the 1st November. Simply gave my room number and the key back. Wasn’t asked if I had any items from mini bar. Just thank you for your stay and goodbye. No room inspection, so assumed deposit refunded.
A few days passed and not only did I not have a refund for my deposit but hotel also charged another £35 to my credit card. I messaged the hotel on booking.com where I booked it. They replied almost straight away saying I had €190 worth of mini bar charges. I replied instantly stating that I did not have anything from the mini bar. No reply from them. I sent multiple messages and nothing back. I searched online and managed to find an email so I emailed them my dispute. Around 10 days passed and they emailed back saying that €190 worth of items were missing from the mini bar. I emailed back straight away again asking for proof of this. Another week passed. They sent a list of items that I had apparently drunk. This list is large and I was staying in the room on my own for two nights only and hardly in the room as out for halloween and seeing friends. Please see picture. None of these items were ever in my room. So either the maids have taken them and said they stocked my room or just missed the items off and not done an inventory when getting the room ready for my arrival. This I find funny as they do one for when they clean it. They must have done one for the previous occupants so would know that these items were not in the room. Someone is lying at some point of the period of changing the rooms over. It looks to me like a scam to not give deposits back. I have read other reviews where the hotel have not refunded deposits where people have trusted the hotel and not had the room checked on check out. I urge any one that takes the risk to stay here, which I highly recommend not doing, on check in to ask the hotel to come up to room to check everything including mini bar. And then when you check out get them to check the room too with yourself there other wise they will lie and not refund you your deposit. Take pictures, take videos for evidence. They are out to get tourists!
I have disputed this with my credit card company who refunded the charges and now waiting to see if the hotel dispute the claim.
PLEASE be vigilant staying here and always cover your back!
IN RESPONSE TO YOUR REPLY:
Not once was I given the chance for a room inspection at check out. Otherwise I would have course taken this. And this obviously is not standard procedure as I have seen other reviews when the same has happened. You took a picture of the fridge. Well done. Thats exactly how it was when I entered the room. It was never stocked to what you say it was. I also find it hard to believe you have a bottle of champagne in every room mini bar. It clearly was end of season and you were trying squeeze every last bit of money out of guests. Either that or your staff are stealing the mini bar stock knowing the guest will be charged. Maybe you should bag check them on leaving. Either way you need a process in place to protect the guest, thats if you care. You can try and deny this all you want and call me a lier, which I also take offence to but I did not consume any of the mini bar so I URGE URGE URGE future guests to check your inventory and room WITH hotel staff at check in and check out.
I travel a lot and stayed in many hotels around the world. But I have never ever faced with scam from the hotel and you don’t particularly expect it in Europe from hotel chain.
I checked-in in the Axes Beach hotel and they required 200 euro deposit for 1 night stay which cost 130 euro, it looked a bit unusual but I trusted them and let them charge my card.
They gave me a room with the terrace. There was a table on the terrace with big ashtray in the middle, the sunbed on the terrace was in cigarette ash and full of cigarette stains (holes). There was no doubt that this place designed for smoking moreover people in the next rooms from left and right sides was smoking on the terrace (you can find other reviews about people smoking in this hotel and it was not only the cigarettes). When I was checking out next day I asked the manager to check my room and return deposit but he refused to do it with my presence and said he was very busy and would check the room later. So I had to leave the hotel and later this day I was charged with 100 euro penalty for cigarette odour in the room. I returned to the hotel and tried to explain that I only smoked on the terrace which was equipped with ashtray, but with the mocking smile he showed me a paper which you required to sign during check-in where among a large amount of text was written in very very small letters that hotel is smoking free. Now I have only one question how often can you see a huge ashtray on the room terrace of non-smoking hotel? I asked the manager why they put ashtray if they are smoking-free and he answered that it was for one-two cigarettes but he guess we had smoked too much I asked him again do they had a rule how many cigarettes guest is allowed to smoke during the stay with no answer. In the conclusion, hotel attract clients with good price, and they business model is to provoke you to do something wrong and charge penalty.
It was last minute booking and I had a very few offers. I regret I became a victim of this scam hotel. Next day we move to another absolutely beautiful property which respect their guests (7 Pines Hotel).
Besides above situation I would like to mention that room was dirty with hairs of previous guest all over the bathroom, towels had musty smell, plates in the kitchen area was sticky. So I suppose according poor quality of service charging penalty is the only way to have a successful business.
I recommend to avoid this hotel at all costs. Not let them to ruin your holiday on this beautiful island.
