Anderson Gay Pub & Show Bar has been a fixture of Puerto de la Cruz's gay scene since 1982, making it one of the longest-running gay venues on the island of Tenerife. It sits on Avenida Familia de Betancourt y Molina, the heart of the town's established gay village, and draws a mixed crowd of locals and visitors from across Europe.
The venue operates as both a pub and a show bar. On weekends, drag queens, go-go dancers, and male strippers take to the stage, while midweek nights bring cruising parties and games evenings to keep the weekly programme varied. There is a terrace in addition to the main indoor space, and the bar is known for its cocktail selection and relaxed, sociable atmosphere. Wednesday and Thursday nights are dedicated cruising events known as the Puerto de la Cruising Party.
Anderson has undergone something of a revival under current management, with regular themed events, a bookable reservations system, and an active social media presence under the name Anderson Disco by Medusa. The venue is welcoming to all and remains the go-to gay bar in the north of Tenerife.

Amazing night. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly, with entrance fee but with drinks 🍸 on weekend .. lovely terrace and people dancing 🕺 ❤️ with amazing Spanish shows.. 👏
We wanted to go to a cool bar during our stay in Puerto de la Cruz and found this one on Google. The reviews were great so we thought we'd give it a go! It was a Tuesday night so it was VERY quiet; us being the first people there after it opening, but we didn't care! The photos show how amazing it is inside! I'm obsessed with neon signs and disco lights, so this was heaven for me! The drinks options are great. We will 100% go back next time we're in Puerto!

The gay bar, oldest on the island, is located downstairs, next to the street, it has a sign on the street, easy to find. It has a smaller inside, but a terrace area as well.
Service is very kind, drinks are out fast as well, affordable prices.
It gets most busy before midnight, but most people actually stay till 5am.
The Dragshow starts at 11-11:30pm, can last till 2 am with some breaks, usually has 3-4 drag queens.
To be fair, I visited early on a weekday and it was pretty empty ; and I had to wake up early so I left before the shows, and it was mostly older men when I visited ; but it's very nice to have a gay pub in Puerto and I wish them a nice continuation.
The music was very very loud inside considering that I was alone so I was happy to be on the terrace 😅 maybe the owners / tenders should avoid blasting pop when there's no customers to give a more relaxed ambiance.
